1:1 Tutorial for Physicians: Using LinkedIn to Find Medical Writing Jobs
LinkedIn is a powerful networking tool, especially in the medical writing world, and one I have been using for well over a decade. In fact, 50% – 60% of my new leads and new project opportunities have come from LinkedIn. But most physicians, I’ve found, are uncertain as to how best to use LinkedIn, how to write and leverage their profiles, and how to optimize their presence on LinkedIn by taking advantage of its many features.
Let me help you demystify this process. This one-on-one tutorial, conducted by Zoom (preferable) or by phone, will address your individual needs and questions, and show you how to leverage LinkedIn to find new medical writing opportunities that are best suited to your needs and career goals as a physician. The tutorial will help you perform more efficient and productive job searches, and will include:
- A review of your LinkedIn profile, in real time
- Advice on how to include the right key words in your headline and bio so that hiring companies find you
- How to figure out which jobs are really looking for your expertise as a physician
- A sample job search that we will do together using the LinkedIn “jobs” function—you’d be amazed at the tricks you can utilize to filter out the jobs that are not right for you, and to capture all the ones that are!
